I want to talk about the most important verse which gave me strength in my most needed situations of life.
Philippians 4:6 TPT
Do not be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life.
Paul writes this letter to the church of Philippi to share the revelation of joy. It was in Philippi, Paul was arrested for preaching the gospel and thrown in prison and almost beaten to death. Paul and his co-worker Silas, instead of worrying or thinking in different directions started giving thanks by singing songs of joy. This caused a tremendous miracle.
The Miracle was
- The prison doors opened and they escaped but not before leading the prison officer to Christ.
- What was his confidence and how did he achieve it?
Do not be pulled in different directions
When negative thoughts come while being anxious about the situation we are going through, we should not fall for those thoughts. It is common to get negative thoughts especially when a situation is not good, but we can overcome that just as Christ overcame.
- We overcome through the word of God.
- Declare the word as the thought occurs.
- Rebuke fear and the doubting spirit as it’s not from God. And Christ has already won the war and trampled the serpent under his footstool.
- Christ is your head - fear and doubt is your footstool because of The Spirit which lives in Christ lives in you.
Be saturated in prayer
How can we achieve that?
- By listening to sermons or reading scriptures, recognizing our drawbacks and praying specifically in those areas.
- If you are lacking wisdom, quote the scriptures related to wisdom and pray.
- Sermons help us focus on the word we need to read on a particular situation.
- Same way if you are sick quote scriptures related to healing.
Thanks giving or gratitude
It is important to be grateful and thankful. Thankfulness makes us hear the voice of God and helps us get stronger, rather than focusing on just the situation. Thankfulness also strengthens our faith.
- Miracles happen to those who choose to believe.
- Expressing thankfulness and praise to God via hymns or praise helps us grow in our spirit life.
- We grow in our spirit when we journey with God.
- One of the growths includes being thankful to God in all circumstances of life.
Tell God every detail of your life
God is very much interested in every detail of your life. From the time we wake up till we lie down he cares every minute detail of our lives. If we are in disbelief we can express it honestly to God, He will help us. If we are anxious, we can express the same to God. He knows our weaknesses and our strengths. He loves an open, honest and vulnerable conversation from us so that he can rope in and help accordingly.
When we follow these, Joy will be filled in our hearts and we don’t feel the pain. And we will see our miracle happen.
For the word says:
Ephesians 3:20 - Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.
I want to share a testimony from my life in the light of the above verses that I have just shared:
I delivered my child here in Sweden and didn’t have a resident visa. So we had to pay for the hospital which was costing us SEK 65,000 (USD 9,000). Vijay and I were worried and depressed.
I was just praying in tongues (praying in spirit) and whenever negative thoughts bombarded me. I used to cry and talk with God and remember the promises which he spoke through his prophets.I had no strength to take care of my baby. But God gave me the physical and mental strength to hold on to him in prayer.
I asked for other people of God to pray for me, and I had my parents and God’s children praying for me.But the battle was mine and I thank God for the spiritual mentors whose constant guidance, support and prayers helped me. And God was fighting for me.
God gave my husband Vijay a solution to call the registration office for visa process and explain our circumstances. As per Ephesians 3:20, we kept faith and God showed favour through officials and we got our visa within a week.
The miracle is we didn’t have to pay for Hospital charges. Everything was free. According to Swedish policy, delivery (Child birth) is free. Not only that the hospital was kind enough to allow us to stay for a week which was a favour of God that Hospital officials allowed it which is not a common occurrence. It was unimaginable and more than what we dreamed of, a miracle.
