Precious Mom (in-Law) - A Tribute

I don’t know how to start or where to start. The very first moments when Ram said –“Come, I will introduce you to my parents”. I wasn’t prepared to meet them. As soon as my mom-in-law saw me, she welcomed me with a warm smile and cheerful voice. She has a beautiful voice and is a carnatic singer. Her beautiful voice echoes in her conversations. She was always full of energy and life.

Between me ,my hubby and dad-in-law. I was most available for my mom-in-law’s office parties or be it casual hangouts. Since my sister-in-law is settled in America, I used to be mistaken for daughter whenever we paired up for any events, parties or hangouts. My mom-in-law used to chuckle and correct everyone that I was daughter-in-law but was loved like a daughter.

Since my mom-in-law was introduced in my engineering college days. I used to bring my test papers home. She used to love seeing my marks. I used to enjoy how her eyes lit up seeing my marks and she would comment – “it’s been a long time since I saw marks like this. Mahi, you remind me of my kid’s school days.” She used to cherish me studying and believed in women enlightenment through education.

She is a divine gift in my life. I only chose my husband. But God chose his family for me. They truly are God’s best gift in my life. I am blessed because of their love and friendship. As the world celebrates Friendship day today, I celebrate my mom-in-law’s love and friendship today and forever.

Men are what their mothers made them.

Thank you Raji mom for not only raising Ram but me too. We are what we are today because of all your sacrifices, love and support that we received from you.

Before she left for eternal home, a close friend of ours Victor Gnanaraj sent us this song for mom and this was the last worship she heard before she went to the Lord in her last hour. Sometimes the smallest acts from our heart in the kingdom become the most important and critical. I want to take a moment to say that when God is asking you to do something even if it is the smallest thing do not postpone it, that might be something really important in the context of his kingdom.

At 12:50 am - July 26th 2020, My Mom-in-law entered into Eternal Light surrounded by my dad-in-law, sister-in-law and hubby. She was in the arms of her children. What a blessed woman!

Four doctors and a number of nurses were monitoring. She naturally left the body. As she was gasping for breath, Doctors suggested not resuscitating her as she is a brain cancer metastasized patient and her body has suffered a lot .She was under the arms of her loving daughter and son while leaving the body.

Ram’s words to his mom - “Life is in your hands, it’s your choice. If you want to go mom, we honour you. You can enter into light. Angels are waiting to receive you and welcome you. You are a righteous woman. But if you want life, you can choose to stay back. Whatever you choose we Love you and honour you”- That’s when Mom-in-law left the body.

My sister-in-law kept signing songs as she loved songs and she was a carnatic singer. She was embraced by my sister-in-law in her last breath.

It was just so peaceful a farewell. She loved so much and she is cherished so much. Your Love is eternal and so are you Mom.
