Self-Discipline is a Spirit

2 Timothy 1:7 New International Version (NIV)
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline .

     ►Self - Discipline is a spirit

2 Timothy 1:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal  discipline[abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].

When I look at the verse "God gave" as in, it’s already ours. Then it’s something that’s in our DNA, already there. It’s on us, our choice to embrace, to take possession, to press on, to lay hold of it and so forth.

This verse comes as reminder to lay hold of, to press on...

Philippians 3:12 New King James Version (NKJV)

Pressing Toward the Goal

12 Not that I have already attained,[a] or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.

Philippians 3:12 New Living Translation (NLT)

Pressing toward the Goal

12 I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.

Philippians 3:12 The Passion Translation (TPT)
12 I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose that Jesus Christ has called me to fulfill and wants me to discover.

So Yes, Self-Discipline,

♦ I am Pressing on

♦ I am Laying Hold of,

♦ I am pursuing,

♦ I am running with passion
