There are two types of suffering :
1 Peter 2:20
After all, what kind of credit is there if, when you do wrong and are punished for it, you endure it patiently? But if when you do what is right and patiently bear [undeserved] suffering, this finds favor with God.
Sufferings that are self-induced
➤Human weakness - like - anger, jealousy, greediness, unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, lust, pride, and so forth.
➤Ignoring warnings when the Holy Spirit gives.
➤Disobedience to instructions when you know deep inside your innermost core what God is speaking to you regarding a situation, relationship, and so forth.
➤Overcome by impulsiveness rather than by wisdom…
I could go on and on, and I wanted to share a few to magnify how self-induced suffering comes.
Sufferings that are an invitation to rule in life, to co-rule with Jesus
2 Timothy 2:12
If we continue to endure,
we shall also rule with him.
Another translation says it like this:
If we are joined with him in his sufferings, then we will reign together with him in his triumph.
If we endure hardship,
we will reign with him.
➥If we endure righteous suffering with a good attitude, we will rule over in this life.
➥I found God is faithful, merciful, long-suffering, and compassionate towards us in our sufferings, even if it is self-induced.
➥This 2022, I found suffering is an invitation to know our aptitude and capacity if we are ready to rule or still need to be in preparation camp.
➥In God's school, no one fails; we repeat the lessons until we are ready for the next level.
Nugget for relationship:
"The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for." - Bob Marley
★I pray God's wisdom guides you to figure out and discern which suffering is rewarding and which is draining.
In 2022 – I witnessed Jesus deliver me and set me free from a lot of pain, grief, and shame.
I am free indeed!! Thank You, Jesus!! Hallelujah!!
Happy New Year, 2023!! God's Got You!!
