In Law : a judicial decision or order.
An official decision or order made by a leader or government a royal decree is a decree given by a king or queen.
For Example: If someone in authority decrees that something must happen, they decide or state this officially.
In other words, decreeing is an announcement of sorts, carrying the force of law. Royal decrees carries the force of law and are backed or enforced by the power of the kingdom they represent.
In God’s kingdom I have noticed God’s authority is more effective in our lives when we embrace Jesus and are in relationship with Him.
Our relationship with God reveals our authority in Christ. Like the Centurion we will be able to say, “I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” (Mt. 8:9)
The story from the book of Matthew really gives us a clear lesson in speaking and declaring or decreeing with power and authority to back it up. The centurion explains to Jesus that he understands the rule of authority. He knows Jesus can speak the word and it will be done.
He knows this because he also is a man under authority and when he speaks something it is done because of the authority that he is under. This is a huge key to our words whether it carries great power or no power. When we are in active relationship with Jesus, our hearts become receptive to His Word. His power is activated when we open our mouths to profess His Word and decree it. If we don’t carry Jesus' heart or Love then our words do not carry the seal of Heaven.
