As I reflect on our marriage, I can't help but think of this verse.
Zechariah 2:5
For I,’ says the Lord, ‘will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’ ”
❖ A Wall of Fire, A Glory Within ❖
In the quiet vow of two hearts twined,
Where promise meets eternal design,
The Lord steps in, with love declared—
A holy shield, a flame prepared.
“For I will be,” He whispers near,
“A wall of fire around you here.”
Not just to guard from every storm,
But warm the covenant you’ve sworn.
Between your hands, His fire glows,
A ring of light that ever grows;
Encircling love with Heaven’s care,
A bond no darkness can ensnare.
And in the midst, His glory stays,
Filling your home in quiet ways—
In whispered prayers, in patient grace,
In every tear and soft embrace.
For marriage is not two alone:
God builds a temple of His own.
And in that place His presence shines—
A glory born of love divine.
So walk together, heart to heart;
No foe can tear what He sets apart.
A wall of fire round your days,
His glory in your midst always.
So Jesus in this we rest;
“What you watch, you bless.
What you bless, you keep.
What you keep, you perfect.”
What You watch, Lord, sanctify;
What You sanctify, protect;
What you protect, fulfill —
In your perfect time.
